Laura Tobin in leather pants

British meteorologist/TV presenter/weather girl Laura Tobin wearing very tight red leather pants:

Lately, Laura Tobin has been wearing leather more frequently - and very nice she looks in it too. But she has been on our radar for longer than that. She is a charming British lady and TV presenter/meteorologist who began working for the BBC in the mid-noughties, and she has always liked to wear a nice tight skirt. She was noticed by us for wearing some extremely tight corporate pencil skirts for weather broadcasts. She has been featured on the Tight Skirts Page but as an additional treat, despite being non-leather we shall post a couple of these videos from our tight skirt archive.

  1. Whoever at GMTV advised Laura on her outfit choice that morning should be summarily dismissed for gross professional misconduct. In the alternative, if they gave good advice but she wilfully disregarded it, she should be compelled to attend a course of instruction on fashion and its impact. Red leather pants (indeed red anything pants) are infinitely more difficult to successfully style than black leather ones. And a red top, even if a different shade of red, is most decidedly not an appropriate match (it would have gone better with black leather pants). Moreover, red leather pants are, in truth, generally only suitable for the very young and/or very beautiful - they're at once both dramatic and unforgiving - and Laura here is 38 and although pleasantly attractive, no world-class beauty. (Black leather pants, on the other hand, suit a very much broader range of ages and appearances, and she looks very much better in the black ones on the other post here, although once again she chose a hideous top to go with them.) Ideally to match those red leather pants she should have worn as a top colour, in descending order of suitability, either one or other of the fifty shades of grey (they all go, surprisingly), black, white, something in the beige/buff/fawn spectrum, pale yellow or cream, or, at a pinch, pale blue. A plain, solid block of colour too, with no fussy extra detailing like buttons, lace-up bits or pops of other colours - red leather pants should be the sole focus of attention in an outfit and any additional extraneous detail is an unnecessary diversion. At least she got that almost right, apart from the silly cuff buttons. But please, ladies, never a red top with red leather pants. It's a fashion failure of the first magnitude.
